Tokyo Ghoul is a dark fantasy anime series based on the same name Japanese manga series. The anime series first premiered on July 4th, 2014 and Tokyo Ghoul season 2 quickly followed in Jan 2015. Both seasons saw 12 episodes each and got fans hooked from the very first episode.
The story of the human-ghoul hybrid, Ken Kankei, caught the eye of even those who did not read the manga. The story intrigued the usual manga fans and the “non-fans” alike and people just couldn’t wait for the next seasons.
When Will Tokyo Ghoul Season 5 Premiere?
After the success of the first 2 seasons, fans were eager for the third season. However, everybody was disappointed as they were welcomed with a fog of unclarity. There was no clear answer to whether there will be a third season or not and people were not happy. Fans had to wait 3 years for the third and the fourth season, which aired in 2018, and now history is repeating itself.
Fans are not sure whether there will be a Tokyo Ghoul season 5 or not. Obviously, they would love nothing more than their favourite anime series to continue and they want answers. Will we have to wait 3 more years for the next season or will we see a release date for Tokyo Ghoul season 5 in the near future? But the biggest question is, will there even be a season 5?
What to Expect in Tokyo Ghoul Season 5?
As the fans saw a three year gap between the first 2 seasons and the last 2 seasons, they are not optimistic about the release date of the next season. Some people are even starting to lose interest in the show because of the delayed releases of the seasons. However, what could the fans expect if there were a season 5?
Some experts believe that there is a very low probability of there being a season 5 because season 4 was the neat little bow that tied up the anime series. At the end of Tokyo Ghoul season 4, Ken’s story was seen as being wrapped up and concluded.
Although, there is a slight chance of another season if the show’s creators along with the manga creator, Sui Ishida, decide to pursue a new plot altogether.
What Did the Fans Think of Season 4 of Tokyo Ghoul?
Even after the long wait, fans still stuck around for season 3 and 4. The interest that many had lost came back when they started watching the 4th season. People didn’t expect it to be as good as it turned out to be as it brought forward and amazing end to the highly intriguing Ken Kaneki story.
The season saw everything, all the puzzle pieces that were set up in the previous seasons, come together. As kaneki achieved what he set out to achieve, the Tokyo Ghoul universe saw a satisfying conclusion. There was peace and harmony amongst the Ghouls and the Humans and Ken Kaneki got the happy ending he deserved.
What fans really loved about the last season, apart from the excitement and suspense, was that everything was nicely concluded at the right pace rather than an abrupt ending. And fans didn’t let this go unnoticed as they flooded twitter with their highly positive and raving reviews.
However, the question still remains whether the writers are writing a new story for the next season or not? And is there going to be a season 5 of Tokyo Ghoul or is the anime finished for good? There are so many unanswered questions that have left the fans confused.
